"The renewable energy market is growing rapidly. There are strong pressures at the European level for citizens, companies and governments to massively deploy solar energy production capacities, in order to improve energy independence and take actions against climate change. Solar photovoltaic projects are becoming larger and more numerous. Being part of a large international energy group represented a strategic step to accelerate our growth, hence our decision to join the EDP Group”, says Grégoire de Pierpont, CEO of Enerdeal.
The company will be responsible for the development, financing, construction and operation of distributed solar solutions in the Benelux region. Enerdeal local expertise in solar photovoltaic projects for B2B customers ideally complements EDP's capabilities in the field of renewable energy, supporting the transition to a sustainable energy future.
For jobs and revenue in Belgium and in Luxembourg, this is good news. "We intend to double our turnover by 2025 and strengthen our teams with many highly specialized profiles. We are planning to install an additional 1 million square meters of solar energy (roofs, parking lots, etc.) within the next three years. This significant expansion is equivalent to adding an additional solar capacity of 100 MWp which will provide energy to support the consumption needs of approximately 25,000 families," concludes Grégoire de Pierpont.
