A major step forward in our corporate DNA

At Enerdeal, safety is not just a legal obligation—it’s a true mindset. Obtaining the VCA certification (Checklist for Contractors regarding Safety, Health and Environment) marks a new milestone in our ongoing commitment to a safe working environment, aligned with the most demanding industry standards.

What exactly is VCA?

Recognized throughout Europe, the VCA label sets a rigorous standard for safety, health, and environment. It is aimed primarily at technical companies working on high-risk sites, often as subcontractors.

Being certified means proving that a structured risk management system is in place, that teams are actively trained, and that a clear accident prevention policy is applied. It also ensures full compliance with current legal requirements, especially in Belgium.

Why did Enerdeal decide to take this step?

Three main reasons motivated our decision:

To protect our employees

Safety is non-negotiable. We do everything possible to ensure a secure work environment, minimizing even the slightest risks.

To meet the expectations of our clients and our group

Today, certification is essential to work with certain major clients. It also meets the internal standards of our international group.

To better anticipate risks

An incident is costly—both humanly and operationally. VCA helps us structure our HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) approach and avoid unpleasant surprises.

A collective and rigorous compliance process

The path to certification was demanding and built step by step with the involvement of many Enerdeal teams.

A trained and committed safety advisor

Noël Coenen, our colleague in charge of the project, completed intensive training at Securex and passed his exam with flying colors. He coordinates the implementation of field practices, bridges the gap between rules and reality, and ensures strict follow-up.

A complete inventory of our equipment

We reviewed all of our gear, including:

  • Collective protections (e.g., RSS fall arrest systems)
  • Electrical tools subject to annual checks
  • Equipment for temporary work at height

Every item is now tracked, inspected, and documented for optimal traceability.

Certification for all staff

Safety concerns everyone. That’s why our entire team—including management—obtained certification:

  • B-VCA for field teams
  • VOL-VCA for supervisors

This approach unifies our safety culture at all levels.

“This certification validates the efforts we were already making. It helped us structure our practices and raise our standards even further.”
Grégoire de Pierpont, CEO of Enerdeal

A commitment to continuous improvement

VCA is not an end goal. It engages us in a continuous improvement process through:

  • Regular internal audits
  • Ongoing risk assessments
  • Action plans for correction and enhancement
  • Constant updates to training programs

These elements are now embedded in our team routines, site briefings, and weekly updates.

What does it change for our clients?

Thanks to VCA, we now offer our partners:

  • Safer, better-managed interventions
  • Increased reliability
  • A significant reduction in operational risks
  • Better coordination with other certified stakeholders

It’s a key advantage in a sector where precision and safety make all the difference.

A collective achievement

This certification is the result of true teamwork. Everyone contributed—whether through prevention, training, documentation, or equipment management. Thank you to all, and especially to Noël, for his remarkable commitment and guidance.

With VCA certification, Enerdeal reaffirms its ambition to be a leading player in the industrial and commercial solar sector in Europe. We will continue to invest with the same rigor in safety and people, to build a more sustainable—and safer—future.
